the first time i walked down to the falls it took me a while. the previous day i had
finished my longest scheduled run for my marathon training.   an older gentleman and
his wife (?) were enjoying the falls.   i was touched to see her taking her time while he
slowly made his way up the path.   i made sure to wait until they were gone, as i would
have had trouble keeping up with their pace.   the purakuinui falls is a well known
waterfall in an area known as 'the catlins' on the south island of new zealand.
